What's New or Changed for 4.2

Version 4.2 release adds the following features:

Web Interface Update

Using Gateway is faster and easier than ever with the latest version of Haivision's award-winning user experience.

  • Similar to other Haivision products, inputs and outputs (previously called sources and destinations) are now distinct from the route configuration. This allows them to be defined once, then easily applied to multiple routes.

  • Create and edit routes intuitively with our new drag-and-drop visual route builder.

  • Full mobile support: Access Gateway on the go! Get work done from anywhere with Gateway's mobile and tablet friendly user experience.

Note

After upgrading to version 4.2, you may not immediately see the new UI. Refresh your browser for the new UI to load.

Microsoft Hyper-V Support

HMG/HSG can now be deployed on Microsoft Hyper‑V environments.

Thumbnail Previews

Streaming routes now include thumbnails, providing you a quick preview of your streams.

Note

Enabling thumbnail previews may impact system performance if you have a lot of running routes.

Manage Routes, Inputs, and Outputs with Search and Labels

Working with large numbers of routes, inputs, and outputs is easier than ever! Organize related routes, inputs, and outputs with labels and quickly search with labels and text search.

Prompt to Change Default Passwords on Non-Cloud Installations

On fresh non-cloud installations (not upgrades) you are now prompted to change the default web interface and Console UI passwords during first sign in of each account.

Limit Access to Web UI by Specific IP Addresses

Added a new security option that lets administrators restrict web interface access to specific IP addresses or CIDR-based network ranges.

System Dashboard

Monitor your system at a glance with the all-new system Dashboard. This dashboard collects all the important system metrics in a single place for easy access.

Clearing Diagnostic Logs

When Diagnostic Logging is enabled, the logs can now be cleared at any time to free up disk space.

Console UI Disabled in Cloud Instances

As most functions are not supported in the cloud, access to the Console UI is now disabled in the Gateway Cloud instances.

Improved Experience when Launching AWS Instance

When launching Gateway in AWS, you no longer need to reboot the instance and web login is possible as soon as the web interface is available.

Adding a Second NIC to VMware and Proxmox VMs

Created a procedure for adding a second network interface for VMware and Proxmox virtual environments.
